Sédentaire dans le sud du Québec et dans les Maritimes, bien qu’on peut la retrouver un peu partout aux États-Unis, la sitelle à poitrine blanche niche dans les forêts de feuillus âgés. Insectivore en période de nidification, son régime alimentaire est essentiellement composé de graines et de fruits secs durant l’hiver. La sitelle à poitrine blanche a une longueur variant de 13 à 16 cm.

A sedentary bird in southern Québec and in the Maritimes, although it is found just about everywhere in the United States, the White-breasted Nuthatch nests in mature leafy forests. An insect-eater during the nesting period, its diet is mainly made up of seeds and dry fruits in the winter. The White-breasted Nuthatch is 13 to 16 cm in length.
