Le bruant des pinèdes niche dans les pinèdes de l’est des États-Unis et s’alimente, entre autres, de choux-palmistes. Sa population est en décroissance, et ce, sans raison apparente. Son appellation anglaise “Bachman’s Sparrow” lui vient d’Audubon qui voulut rendre hommage à son ami, le révérend John Bachman, qui découvrit l’oiseau en Caroline du Sud. Il a une longueur de 15 cm.

Bachman’s Sparrow nests in the pine groves of the eastern United States and feeds, among other things, on cabbage trees. Its population is in decline, for no apparent reason. Its English name, “Bachman’s Sparrow”, was given it by Audubon who wanted to pay homage to his friend, the Reverend John Bachman, who discovered the bird in South Carolina. Its length is 15 cm.
