L’oie rieuse a pour habitat la toundra arctique de l’Alaska, des Territoires du Nord-Ouest et du Grœnland. De passage dans tout le Sud du Québec en automne, elle migre sur la côte Ouest américaine en hiver. Herbivore, l’oie rieuse picore la végétation qu’elle trouve à proximité de ses lieux de nidification. En période migratoire et hivernale, elle s’alimente davantage dans les champs de blé, d’orge et de riz sauvage. L’oie rieuse a une longueur de 66 à 76 cm.

The habitat of the Greater White-fronted Goose is the arctic tundra of Alaska, the North-West Territories and Greenland. Passing through all of southern Québec in the fall, it migrates to the American West Coast in the winter. A grass eater, the Greater White-fronted Goose pecks at the vegetation it finds in the vicinity of its nesting places. During the migration and winter periods, it feeds more commonly in fields of wheat, barley and wild rice. The length of the Greater White-fronted Goose is 66 to 76 cm.
