La tournepierre à collier a pour territoire le Nord canadien, où elle niche dans la toundra, les plateaux rocailleux et les îles basses. Elle s’alimente d’insectes, de mollusques et de crustacés qu’elle trouve sur les rivages en retournant les pierres, les coquillages et les algues à l’aide de son bec. En période migratoire, il n’est pas rare de la croiser dans le sud du Québec et dans les Maritimes. En hiver, on l’observe davantage sur les côtes est et ouest des États-Unis. La tournepierre à collier a une longueur de 21 à 25 cm.

The territory of the Ruddy Turnstone is the Canadian North, where it nests in the tundra, on the rocky plateaus and the low islands. It feeds on insects, molluscs and crustaceans that it finds on shores by turning over stones, shells and algae with its beak. During the migration period, it is not uncommon to find it in southern Québec and the Maritimes. During the winter, it is more commonly found along the East and West Coasts of the United States. The length of the Ruddy Turnstone is 21 to 25 cm.
