Wine Bottle

Wine Bottle

Glass
H. 30 cm
In New France, wine bottles were common because wine was a very popular beverage. It came from France, Spain and its colonies (Canaries and Tenerife), and Cyprus. Wine came to New France in barrels or hogsheads before being poured into bottles. The bottles were made in France or England and exported to New France from France—sometimes full, sometimes empty. This is a reproduction of an 18th century bottle made of thick dark green glass.
