Archives
The archives are a source of original information that paints an economic, intellectual, and sociocultural portrait of a society that is constantly evolving. Text documents, maps, manuscripts, and photographs—tangible evidence of lives and events from the time of the French colony to the 1930s—have been handed down from Séminaire de Québec. To this body are added the private items of individuals of note from the world of politics, the military, law, and education. Together, these documents make up archives of incalculable value—in fact, among the finest anywhere—that shed important light on the history of French North America.
