The Musée de la civilisation Foundation
Since its inception 20 years ago, the Musée de la civilisation has come a long way. With 10 million visitors, it is one of the most visited museums in the country. After presenting more than 300 exhibitions and hands-on rooms, thousands of popular cultural activities, and tens of thousands of guided tours, we can say with certainty that the Musée de la civilisation has become a permanent fixture in Québec's cultural life. We are delighted that our institution has so quickly become a world class museum, firmly supported by the community.
We share our great success with all those who have offered their support and know-how since the Museum opened in 1988. Without the participation of our partners and collaborators, we could not have achieved this level of excellence that drives us to excel. However, being a leader in museology requires major financial support. Although the Museum is funded by Québec’s Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine , it also depends on support from the community it serves. This is why we created the Musée de la civilisation Foundation.
Teaming up with the Musée de la civilisation by becoming a member of the Foundation means joining forces with a prestigious and dynamic organization, contributing to the promotion and development of a prestigious cultural institution, and investing in the future. It is also an opportunity to create new activities like Heritage at Home.
For both individual and business members, the Musée de la civilisation is a special place to share with partners, clients, and friends your passion for ideas, beauty, and innovation—what we call the human adventure! Established with purely cultural, educational, and charitable goals in mind, the Foundation calls on businesses and individuals interested in civilization, history, the arts, and culture.
By becoming a Foundation member, you will be helping the Museum reach out to a wider audience, improve the quality and originality of its work, and promote itself internationally. Being a member of the Musée de la civilisation Foundation also entitles you to many privileges.
Businesses and individuals can become Foundation members by selecting one of the following five categories: Subscriber ($100 to $499), Patron ($500), Grand Patron ($1,000), Benefactor ($2,000), Grand Benefactor ($4,000), or Governor ($10,000 or more). Foundation members agree to pay their annual membership fee for a minimum of two consecutive years.
In addition to taking pride in being associated with an institution whose success extends beyond Québec, members also enjoy numerous privileges, including a tax receipt for their donation.
