
The Augustines de la Miséricorde de Jésus religious community played a key role in developing Quebec’s healthcare system. Explore that role through objects from their invaluable collection, a testament to the hospital work and the spiritual and daily lives of these cloistered nuns, who have been contributing to Quebec society since 1639.

French America and its migrations—the French to North America, the Acadians and the Métis, French Canadians to the United States and Western Canada—is the subject of this exhibition. The motivations that drove these migrants, full of hope or victims of history, form its underlying theme. This permanent exhibition replaces “French America.”

Founded in 1663, the Séminaire de Québec played a leading role in the development of Québec society, notably by laying the foundation of the Québec education system and creating the first French-language university in North America, in 1852.
