From Abitibi to Gaspésie, from Estrie to Îles de la Madeleine, from Montréal to Havre-Saint-Pierre, and from Mauricie to Montérégie: the list of cities, towns, and villages that have welcomed Musée de la civilisation exhibitions gets longer every year.
Québec museums are critical Musée de la civilisation partners, and over the years it has honed an approach that takes into account the uniqueness of the regions it visits, the needs of various audiences, and the skills of the teams on site.
Sharing exhibitions and educational products with Québec’s other museums is an important part of Musée de la civilisation’s outreach throughout the province. Other collaborations, such as coproductions and exhibition exchanges also benefit both the Museum and its natural partners.
Musée de la civilisation takes a particular interest in high school and college students, reaching out to them in their educational environment. For twelve years, the Museum’s mobile unit has been visiting the high schools and cégeps of Québec with exhibitions designed to address students’ concerns. During the Democracy on the Road tour, the mobile unit host led a democracy discussion group on the Museum’s Facebook page, which the students were invited to join in.
