The Place-Royale from the Present to the Past Web site boasts a wealth of theme-based texts written and approved by historians, in addition to resources that provide a sweeping overview of the area and the periods of history that left their mark. As such, it contains a number of objects of interpretation and social phenomena covered in the Québec Education Program’s History and Citizenship Education program, from the first occupants to the modernization of Québec society. Teachers of students in grades 9 to 12 in other Canadian provinces will also find a number of links with their respective education programs.

This section features a lesson plan that provides a motivating way for students to explore the Web site content. The Webquest entitled Brainteasers, Puzzles and Curious Facts is comprised of riddles based on real facts. To solve the riddles, students have to answer 12 questions by searching through the various sections of the Web site. Once students have completed their research, they pool their information and share their discoveries during a group discussion.
