The Séminaire de Québec

Whether visible from a boat on the river or during a stroll around Place-Royale, the lantern turret of the Séminaire de Québec is always there in the distance, standing guard over the heart of the city. The historic and magnificent Séminaire de Québec, with its stucco and stone walls, its wrought-iron gates, the trompe l’œil décor of the chapel and its sculpture, is the dedicated work of brilliant architects and skilled craftsmen. The innovative Seminary priests were on the cutting edge of the latest discoveries, and left the old city a legacy that was to speak of the ingenuity and vision of its builders for centuries to come.
