Ordo duit ad Deum

Order leads to God

A seminary is a religious institution that educates young people destined for the priesthood. The Latin word seminarium means nursery, with its associations of cultivating and nurturing growth, notions at the heart of the Seminary’s vocation. The Petit Séminaire de Québec was a school providing a classical education, and is still today a high school that prepares students for university or higher education. The Grand Séminaire is reserved exclusively for the formation of clergy, preparing candidates for the ministry of the priesthood and parish duties. The bishop and diocesan authorities then assign parishes to those admitted to the priesthood.
