Tiny book (7.7 cm X 11.7 cm) designed to be carried in a pocket.

This small Canadian history book, in question-and-answer
format, was used by students to memorize the important events from
Canada’s history. It was probably called a “catechism”
because of its similarity to the religious catechism, which was
also in question-and-answer format, and was meant to be learned
by heart.
