Early 20th century
Made in Québec.
The suit comprises a dark blue pinstripe belted frock coat, a green
belt and a cap.

It was compulsory for students to wear a uniform
from the early days of the Petit Séminaire, founded in 1668.
The students were required to wear it at all times, even outside
the Séminaire. The uniform was often referred to as the “chipmunk”
because of its white pinstripes, reminiscent of the chipmunk’s
coat. None of the students liked the uniform. It was hot in summer
and cold in winter, and they were often teased about it. Locals
called them the “blue sheep”.
