Toiletry supplies
Late 19th century
Made in England.
Ceramic washbasin and water jug.

Use
The Séminaire priests considered hygiene to be very important, and the students had to wash every morning. Until around 1920, when running water was installed in the Séminaire, they did this in the dormitory, with the aid of a ceramic washbasin, a jug of cold water and soap. Hands were also washed frequently; the Séminaire correctly thought this would halt the spread of epidemics.
