Late 19th century
Made in England.
Pen with a wooden handle and two pointed ends.

All the students had an inkwell and pen for
writing until the mid-20th century. These objects were
very valuable. In an essentially rural world, the ability to read
and write was reserved for a middle-class, city-dwelling elite.
This particular pen was used to sign the first official deeds of
the Province of Québec, under the Confederation.
