Gaston, aged 60
« The craziest thing I ever did was to go to Russia in 1972 to watch the Canadian team play. It was the first time that so many foreigners had ever visited Russia, I think. It was quite something, walking into the stadium between rows of Red Army guards. »

Hélène, aged 30
« The funniest thing that ever happened to me, when I think about the Montreal Canadiens, was in a plane between the Hawaiian Islands and Australia. To my delight, I was sitting next to an Aboriginal from the Fiji Islands. He looked very Fijian, in traditional dress, the works. I was looking forward to talking about the Fiji culture for the entire 12-hour flight. But that wasn't quite what happened! The guy was from Fiji, but he was crazy about the Montreal Canadiens and his brother, who was a student at Toronto University, sent him videos of the Canadiens' games. It was quite a shock for me! »

« The craziest thing I ever did was to send videos to my father in Florida, so that he could watch the Nordiques play. »

Mireille, aged 35
« I actually paid $400 for two black market tickets to a Canadiens playoff game. And it wasn't even the finals! You have to be a real fanatic to do that! »
