Early settlement by the French (Champlain), the fur trade, the historical and geographical evolution of the site (seaport, docks), architecture (stone houses, vaulted cellars, fire protection) and the commercial role of Place-Royale (merchants and international trade) are covered in this guided tour of the site. The tour also includes the role played by the Native peoples, wars, and the system of defence (Royal Battery).
The tour ends in front of the La Fresque des Québécois (the Mural of Quebecers).
Meet at the Musée de la place Royale at 27 Notre-Dame Street.
There should be no more than 20 peoples per sub-group. Please divide your group up accordingly. If there is more than one group, please take the total number of participants into account when dividing them into sub-groups.
The activity will take place even in rainy weather. Please dress accordingly.
