The theme of look-alikes and portraits launches a story that combines the history of antiquity with the distractions of today.

With the participation of Québec photographer François Brunelle, and the collaboration of the Musée d'art et d'histoire in Geneva and the Fondation Gandur pour l'Art.

Twenty-five to thirty photographs of contemporary faces will be matched with works from the Greco-Roman and Egyptian collections of the Musée d'art et d'histoire in Geneva and the Fondation Gandur pour l'Art. Ranging from intimate to monumental, contemporary black and white photographs and ancient works will create an unusual journey through time and space.

The Museum has found doubles amongst the public! A website was created in 2016 to match today's faces with those of ancient statues. The call for doubles officially ended on April 30, 2017, but the website is still accessible. More than a face recognition tool, this site is where the story of this exhibition began.
