Visitors Guide
We can hardly wait!
We're doing all we can to make sure your visit to the Museum is a welcoming experience.
To be safe, we now have special rules and procedures to protect your health and the health of our staff.
It's all based on the recommendations of public health authorities and Québec's labour standards board, CNESST.
Are you experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms?
Please do not come to the museum, if you have symptoms of COVID-19, been in contact with an infected person, you or a member of the household are awaiting a result of a COVID-19 test, or the end of the 14 days isolation after a trip.
How do you visit Musée de la civilisation?

Tickets are for specific time slots, which you have to choose before you come in. Museum members also need to reserve a ticket online. Select the ticket category that corresponds to your membership and, just before checkout, enter your membership number in the voucher code / membership number box to set the cart to $ 0.

If you have a mobile device, our Mon MCQ lets you access videos, recordings, and other extras. Don't forget your headphones!
Go to the entrance on rue Dalhousie at the time marked on your ticket
It's now the only entrance and is clearly marked.
Disinfect your hands before going in
Hand sanitizer dispensers are also available all over the building.
Always stay at least 2 metres from other people
That applies to waiting in line outside and when you're inside the Museum.
Follow the signs
All foot traffic through the Museum is one-way, so people won't pass each other in opposite directions. The signs will make it easy to know where you are.
Don't forget your mask.
Wearing a mask or face covering are mandatory.
Museum opening hours have been changed
What else has been done to make the Museum safe?
Limits on the number of visitors
A maximum visitor capacity has been set for the Museum based on the capacities of the exhibition halls. That limits the number of visitors.
Clear signage
Signs and floor indicators have been put in to direct foot traffic and remind people about distancing and the other rules and practices.
Cleaning
Day-to-day cleaning of all areas is being done more often. The Museum will be closed on Mondays for in-depth cleaning and sanitation.
Changes have been made to the reception area
Some aspects of the reception area have been reorganized to make things safer.
Some services are no longer available
Despite the restrictions, we guarantee you'll get the full, unforgettable experience. Thank you for your confidence in the Museum.
